Greater Holland area

  • Elizabeth Hager at Sunchase Studio - Hudsonville.  Private piano lessons located at Quincy and 32nd in Hudsonville.   • Zach Tolan, Holland/Greater Grand Rapids -  Private lessons or small groups in violin, viola, cello, guitar and piano, at your home or his. He is a full-time private music tutor, teaching an average of more than 50 lessons and groups each week for 15 years. He has led local orchestras, operated a set of fine arts centers for kids, and has a patent-pending notation system that simplifies reading notes, especially for young learners ages 4-10. Greater Grand Rapids Area

 

  • The Academy of Music GR offers private lessons as well as  2 group classes.  Keyboard games is a small group keyboard class for kindergartners.  Rock Band is a perfect next step for private lesson students  ages 10 and up who want to learn to make music in a group. Lessons are on a month to month basis that require registration only two weeks in advance. Please call (616) 965-1655 mid-August to register for classes in September. There is a family registration fee of $25. 

  • Caledonia Dance and Music Center, Caledonia. Offering private and group music  lessons. Click on their name above or call 616-891-1606 for details on classes and registration. 

  • Girls Choral Academy,  Grand Rapids. Inclusive community choirs for girls ages 5-18. Girls develop vocal technique, musical skills, expressive artistry, and an awareness of music from many cultures. Monthly tuition will be paid by Hamilton with a PBL Music Committment.   • Grand Rapids Civic Theater, You can take 1- 3 classes combined during their Fall and Winter terms (depending on cost of each class).   For Spring term you can take 1-3 classes (depending on cost of classes), or 1 class plus the performance block.  If you are interested in the performance block, please make sure to take all prerequisites.   This is only available as a year long community partner lab and CANNOT be added at second semester.   • Grand Rapids Symphony Youth Choruses.  Accepting students in grades 1-12 with audition.  Please contact Holly for audition information and let them know you are a Hamilton Home School student.

  • Jenn Straka - NE side of Grand Rapids. Teaches Piano: beginning to advanced intermediate,  Flute: beginning to advanced intermediate,  Voice: beginning to intermediate,  Ukulele: beginning.  Call (269) 760-2903  or email Jenn.Straka@gmail.com to arrange a date and time for lessons.     

  • Joshua Dunigan, Grand Rapids. Available for group and private instruction in music fundamentals, percussion, and ensemble play. Experience with both general music education and musical play for special needs students. Contact Josh at dizzyjd@gmail.com

  • Joyful Sounds Music Studio, Grand Rapids.  Drumming and music classes, Rhythm Kids 1 & 2, are available for Hamilton students ages 5-8. These are exciting classes where children can explore the world of rhythm through movement, instrument play, songs and games. The three 10 week classes include a copy of the music and songbook for home use.  Drums are provided in class, but  Rhythm Kids 2 students are encouraged  (not required)  to purchase a drum for home use. Fall schedule is TBA. 

  • Karen Yonkers, NE Grand Rapids. After 30 years of private teaching, Karen is completing her Music Education degree at Calvin College, and is qualified to teach all wind, brass, string, and piano students. Piano and clarinet are her forte. Private lessons in her home: sibling discounts.

  • Kroc Center, Grand Rapids - There's something for everyone at the Kroc Center.  They offer classes in PE, Art and Music. Hamilton will cover tuiiton for students to take 1-4  sessions per semester per PBL.   • Lisa Whitters, Wyoming.   Music Lessons 616-288-5510.  Home School mom and  music lesson teacher.  Can teach all strings, including mixed string groups.  Violin and viola to advanced, cello and base to intermediate, and piano all levels.  Will mix instruments and skill level within groups.

  • Troy Stansberry, Grandville - Music Lessons in guitar, electric and upright bass. With 30 years teaching experience specializing in new students with little or no experience, but can teach a variety of ages and experience.  Available for lessons at his home studio or he can come to your home if you have a group together.   • St. Cecilia Music Youth Ensembles.                                    

  • Victree Song Studio with Jill Vick, Greater SE GR/Caledonia area.
