Did you hear about the band?  The 7th and 8th grade band?  

Their performance at MSBOA Band Festival yesterday was grand!  

The 7th grade earned three 2’s and a 1 for an overall 2nd division rating, how fun!  

The 8th grade band did a fantastic job, they earned all 1’s for an overall 1st division rating, they are the bomb!

Awesome job, awesome job everyone.

Plan on ice cream as your special treat

Come sit and rest your weary feet

Your homeroom teachers have permission slips

So get them in, get them in quick.

At lunch time on Tuesday and Wednesday too

We’ll be taking the slips & money just from you

So sign up and come for this will be fun

Are you a 7th or 8th grader? A fan of math? If you are interested in becoming a math mentor for 6th grade math students one or two days a week during HAWKS, please contact Ms. Lillmars ASAP.

Fun Night is coming!!! Come run through inflatable obstacle courses, Joust, eat ice cream, play games and so much more. Friday, March 16th from 3-5pm. Get a permission slip from your homeroom teacher. Sign up to come by bringing your signed permission slip and $3 to the tables set up at lunch next Tuesday and Wednesday, and the following Monday and Tuesday.

Attention all students. If you are interested in joining the Changing Families group, please have your permission slip in by this Wednesday.  If you have any questions, feel free to talk to Mr. DeRoos or Mrs. Goodman.

Middle and High School age students looking for volunteer hours, or who are interested in learning more about the work and mission of the Outdoor Discovery Center, are encouraged to join the new “VoLes” Volunteer League! This program is designed for 12 to 18 year olds who will work with a staff member on a variety of indoor and outdoor tasks. We will spend time caring for our captive wildlife, improving the nature preserve by removing invasive species and installing native plants, and a number of other activities that further our goal of connecting people with nature.  More information and Spring Schedule available at http://outdoordiscovery.org/voles/
 

The Rural Rush 5k is back!  Save the Date: May 19 Rural Rush More details to come.

TMBC (Teens Ministry Bible Club) will be held in the band assembly room on the First and Third Monday of every month from 2:50 to 3:50.  Snacks, Drinks, and Bibles will be provided along with a lesson. Please make arrangements to have a ride home by 4:00.

For Parents:

Hunters Education class will be held at the Hamilton Rod & Gun Club on April 16, 17, 19 (6pm to 8:30pm) & 21 (8am to 12pm).  They have to attend all these dates to complete the course.  You may call Kurt Taratuta to register at 269-286-9975 or email me at kurt.taratuta@gmail.com.

Sports Physicals for Next Year:  If you are thinking about next school year already and would like your child to participate in sports, please make sure the sports physical you get is dated AFTER April 15, 2018.  We will be offering physicals at the high school again and the date will be shared with you as soon as it has been decided.

Softball Clinic: Saturday March 24 in Middle School West Gym from 9-12. All ages welcome.

Reminder about sports and appointments - If you are in a winter 2 sport, please remember that if you leave school for an appointment or come late to school due to an appointment you MUST return to school with a note from the doctor/ortho/dentist office in order to practice/try out/play in the sport you are involved in.  No note = no participation for that day.
