Covering Hawkeye Sports excels at MIPA 2020 Spring Awards

The Covering Hawkeye Sports program participated in the annual Michigan Interscholastic Press Association's 2020 Spring Awards and saw every entry bring home individual recognition.

MIPA is the state's journalism association which works to support, advocate and recognize the young journalists in the state of Michigan. 

Senior Kaari Dreyer won a State Title in Information Graphics.  Kaari also won 2nd place in the Information Graphic category (each school can enter a maximum of two entries in each category).  Junior Colin Costello brought home a 2nd Place Award in the School Promo video category.  Sophomore Isaac Sterenberg won a 3rd place for his entry in Sports Action Photo.  Also, sophomore Mila Tasma brought home an Honorable Mention award in Sports Action Photo. 

The CHS class finished in 2nd Place for Social Media Coverage.  In the past five years, the CHS program has finished in the top 2 in this category.
