Parent Testimonial: The Stock Family

Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Mike and Sue Stock were familiar with Hamilton Community Schools, even though their son, Miles, attended a different school district.

However, when schools across the country shifted to remote learning last spring, the Stock family realized they needed to make a change. Their current situation wasn't ideal.

And because Hamilton Community Schools had an established history with remote learning options, they felt it was the best option for Miles.

"What we liked about Hamilton was it had a more robust remote experience," Mike Stock said.

The Hamilton Middle School staff, most notably Secretary Kris Hendrickson, helped them hit the ground running last fall by answering all their questions and connecting them with the technology they needed.

"She was amazing from the beginning," Sue Stock said.

Now Miles, a 6th grade, teacher-paced remote student with Teacher Brianne Schuiteman, is thriving. His teachers, which also include Malory Postma and Paul Connelly, are responsive, friendly, and present, Sue Stock said.

“We have not even met them, but it feels like we are friends,”  Sue Stock said.
