October is Principal Appreciation Month, and we’re grateful for the leaders who support students, staff and families across Hamilton Community Schools.

Thank you for the care, commitment and leadership you bring to our school community every day!

Back row, from left: David Sheppard, assistant principal at Hamilton High School; Mitch Bosch, Hamilton High School; Jared Randall, Bentheim Elementary; Liz Morehouse, Hamilton Middle School; and Sean Deiters, assistant principal at Hamilton Middle School.

Hamilton Elementary second graders and their families enjoyed a fun morning of Bingo and time together on Thursday! Thank you to the Hamilton Elementary PTO for organizing these special events and bringing our Hawkeye community together. 🖤💛

Hamilton Elementary first graders had a great time visiting the Hamilton Fire Department on Friday! They learned about fire safety, how firefighters help keep our community safe, and even got to see the fire trucks and equipment up close.

Thank you to the Hamilton Fire Department for welcoming our students!

The Hamilton varsity football team brought Homecoming spirit to Hamilton Elementary this afternoon!

Players walked the hallways, high-fived students, heard plenty of “Let’s go, Hawkeyes!” chants, and even joined Mrs. Petersen’s physical education class for line tag and stretches.

For some players, it was a special return to their own elementary school. The team will visit our other elementary schools over the next couple of weeks, too!

Way to go, Hawkeyes!

Friday’s first professional development day of the school year was a success, giving our teachers time to connect, collaborate, and share ideas to support our youngest Hawkeyes. Here are photos of our Young 5s-4th Grade staff working together!

Thank you to our teachers for the care and energy you bring to our classrooms every day!

Reminder: There is NO SCHOOL for students this Friday, September 18, 2026! However, we hope to see you at the Sixth Annual Hawkeye Hometown Tailgate from 4:30-7:00 PM! All are welcome.

It's never too late to share back-to-school photos!

Here are images from the first day at Hamilton Elementary on Wednesday. Our Hawkeyes are off to a GREAT start to the new year! These smiles are contagious.

For 24 years, Food Service Director Paul Keene drove an hour each way to serve Hamilton Community Schools. Today, he made that drive for the final time as he heads into retirement!

Paul, thank you for your dedication and everything you have done for our students, staff and district. We wish you all the best in this well-earned next chapter!

It’s so good to be back! 🖤💛

Our 2026-27 All-Staff Welcome Back was filled with smiles, laughter, reconnections and, of course, a few decent jokes from Dr. Lusk!

It was the perfect way to begin a full day of learning and preparation as we get ready to welcome our students back on Wednesday. We can’t wait!

We were excited to welcome our newest staff members to Hamilton Community Schools during New Staff Orientation today! They toured the district, participated in training sessions, connected with their new colleagues, and learned more about what makes Hamilton such a special place.

They come to us with different backgrounds, experiences, and roles, but they already share two important things: a love for kids and a love for Hamilton.

We’re grateful to have them on our team and can’t wait to see the difference they make for our students in the year ahead!

Please join us in congratulating Marisa Halford on her new role as a Kindergarten teacher at Hamilton Elementary!

Marisa is a familiar face to many in Hamilton, having served our students over the past several years as a paraprofessional before stepping into a long-term substitute teaching role at Hamilton Elementary last school year.

Now, she's officially joining our Hamilton El teaching staff as a Kindergarten teacher, where she'll be splitting time with Mrs. Jana Zweering.

We're excited to see Marisa continue her journey in Hamilton and know she'll make a wonderful impact in the classroom. Congratulations, Marisa!

Here are your important dates for the 2026-27 school year!
