Hamilton High School has once again earned national recognition from U.S. News & World Report, receiving a 2025-2026 Best High Schools badge as part of the publication's annual rankings.
Each year, U.S. News evaluates nearly 18,000 public high schools across the country using objective measures including college readiness, graduation rate, state assessment performance, and success in preparing students for life after high school.
Hamilton High School's recognition reflects the district's continued commitment to academic excellence and preparing students for purpose. Compared to statewide averages, Hamilton students perform approximately 30% higher in reading proficiency and 40% higher in math proficiency, while also maintaining a graduation rate that exceeds the Michigan average.
"I am very proud that we are receiving this recognition," said Hamilton High School principal, Mitch Bosch. "It goes to show how our building is continually improving and dedicated to our students, the commitment of our staff, and the support of our families and community. We are proud of the culture we have built that has brought us to this point. One that challenges students academically, encourages them to pursue their passions, and continues to prepare them for purpose long after graduation. I am immensely grateful, thankful, and impressed by the differentiation and innovation of our students and staff to consistently receive this recognition. "
Those outcomes are supported by a wide range of opportunities available to Hamilton students, including Advanced Placement courses, Dual Enrollment, Early College, Career & Technical Education, work-based learning experiences, industry certifications, and career-focused programs that prepare students for success whether they choose college, the workforce, military service, or skilled trades.
"This recognition reflects the dedication of our students, the commitment of our staff, and the tremendous support of our families and community," said Hamilton High School Principal Mitch Bosch. "We are proud to provide opportunities that challenge students academically while helping them discover their passions and prepare for whatever comes next."
The U.S. News & World Report recognition serves as another reminder that Hamilton Community Schools continues to deliver on its mission of ensuring every student graduates Prepared for Purpose and Prepared for Life.
