Welcome to the new website for Hamilton Community Schools!
The redesigned website is now live at www.hamiltonschools.us, offering improved navigation, easier access to important resources, and a more mobile-friendly experience for families, staff, students, and community members.
A new Hamilton Community Schools mobile app will follow in the coming weeks, providing another convenient way for the Hawkeye Family to find information and stay connected.
In a new episode of the H2Know podcast that launched on July 30, Superintendent Dr. Brad Lusk and District Communications & Marketing Coordinator Zach Harig discuss the “why” behind the changes, the community feedback that helped guide the process, and how the new website and upcoming app will strengthen communication throughout the district.
Listening to Our Community
The decision to redesign the website followed several years of conversations with parents, staff, students, and community members. Although the previous website served the district well, Hamilton Community Schools regularly received feedback about mobile navigation and the difficulty of finding certain information, forms, and resources.
“We take that information in—anecdotally, formally, through various advisory meetings, and through surveys that we’ve done with the community,” Lusk said during the podcast. “The school listens, and we really do put that into action.”
The district evaluated several companies specializing in K-12 websites and communication before selecting Apptegy to provide the new website, mobile app, and expanded communication tools.
During the 2025-26 school year, approximately 63,000 active users visited the Hamilton Community Schools website more than 832,000 times. With more people accessing district information from their phones, creating a stronger mobile experience was a priority throughout the redesign.
Explore New and Updated Resources
The new website includes several organizational improvements and expanded pages designed to make information easier to find while better highlighting the programs, services, and opportunities available at Hamilton Community Schools.
Updates include:
A new Career & College Readiness page featuring information about unique programs and pathways, including work-based learning, direct college credit, CNA and CDL training, IGNITE, and other opportunities that help prepare students for life after graduation.
A new Student Support page explaining how Hamilton focuses on every student—from its youngest Hawkeyes through graduation—through Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, Meaningful Work, and other district programs and services.
A centralized Fine Arts page serving as a one-stop shop for Hamilton’s band, vocal music, theatre, and visual arts programs.
An updated Academics section that makes curriculum, academic programs, and learning opportunities easier to explore.
Building-specific Parent Resources pages that bring important forms, documents, links, and frequently requested information together in one convenient location.
An enhanced staff directory featuring staff photos.
District and building-level news and live feeds providing timely updates, reminders, celebrations, and a closer look at what is happening throughout Hamilton Schools.
Coming Soon: A ChatBot helping users easily find answers to questions, documents, and items they're searching for.
A website chatbot will also help visitors locate documents, forms, contact information, and other frequently requested resources.
A Hamilton Community Schools Mobile App Is Coming
The next step in the district’s partnership with Apptegy will be the launch of a Hamilton Community Schools mobile app in the coming weeks. The app will be available for Apple and Android devices.
Families will be able to use the app to access news, calendars, school information, important documents, athletic information, and other district resources. Parents and guardians who log in will receive a more personalized experience connected to their children. Community members will also be able to download the app and follow district news, events, and activities.
The app will allow the district and individual schools to provide more targeted communication. Updates and notifications may be sent districtwide or directed to families from a particular building, helping users receive the information most relevant to them.
Apptegy’s communication platform will also allow Hamilton Community Schools to send emails, text messages, phone calls, and mobile push notifications from one centralized system. This will be especially valuable when the district needs to quickly communicate school closures, emergencies, or other time-sensitive information.
The app will complement, rather than replace, the district’s existing communication methods. Hamilton Community Schools will continue using email, phone calls, text messages, social media, and the Transcript newsletter to keep families informed.
Begin Exploring Today
Families, staff, students, and community members are encouraged to explore the new website and become familiar with its updated navigation and resources.
As with any major website transition, the district expects to make adjustments following the launch. Anyone who encounters a broken link, has difficulty finding information, or would like to provide feedback may contact District Communications & Marketing Coordinator Zach Harig at zharig@hamiltonschools.us.
Additional information will be shared when the Hamilton Community Schools mobile app becomes available to download.
