We were excited to welcome our newest staff members to Hamilton Community Schools during New Staff Orientation today! They toured the district, participated in training sessions, connected with their new colleagues, and learned more about what makes Hamilton such a special place.

They come to us with different backgrounds, experiences, and roles, but they already share two important things: a love for kids and a love for Hamilton.

We’re grateful to have them on our team and can’t wait to see the difference they make for our students in the year ahead!

As you may remember, Hamilton High School conducted a prescribed burn near the high school pond on March 18, 2025.

Now, 16 months later, the area is thriving as dormant seeds have germinated and new plant life has emerged.

“From our first controlled burn about 10 years ago, which included planting wildflowers, to our latest burn in 2025, we are now seeing a healthier ecosystem near the high school pond,” Mr. Hickok said.

It’s exciting to see the long-term benefits of this work and the natural beauty continuing to grow right here on campus! 🌼🌿

Before students fill the hallways and classrooms once again, our custodial team is hard at work behind the scenes getting ready for another great year.

While our buildings may be quiet during the summer, there's nothing quiet about the work being done inside. From moving furniture around classrooms and deep cleaning every space to sanitizing shelves, lockers, desks, and high-touch surfaces, shampooing carpets, waxing floors, and tackling countless other projects, our custodial staff is putting in long hours to prepare our schools for students and staff.

Their dedication often happens when no one is watching, but the impact of their work is felt by everyone who walks through our doors.

Thank you to our incredible custodial team for your pride, professionalism, and commitment to providing clean, safe, and welcoming schools. We truly have the best and we couldn't do it without you!

Paige Mokma: I am excited to be joining Hamilton Community Schools for several reasons. I have consistently heard wonderful things about Hamilton and the strong sense of community it fosters. Hamilton truly embodies community, even in its name. I value building meaningful relationships with students both inside and outside the classroom, and I look forward to being part of a district that prioritizes those connections. Additionally, my family recently moved into the district, and my children, Addison and Austin, will also be joining the Hamilton community at Bentheim Elementary. My husband, Rob, is a Hamilton alumnus and has always spoken very positively about his experience in the district. A few fun facts about me: My favorite holiday is Pi Day. I have previously taught Geometry, Precalculus, AP Calculus, and Physics. I also have a cat named Leonardo Di-Cat-Rio.
