Dr. Lusk becomes one of 25 superintendents nationally recognized by the National School Public Relations Association

Hamilton Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Brad Lusk has been named to the National School Public Relations Association’s “Superintendents to Watch” list. The honor recognizes 25 superintendents nationwide with fewer than five years of experience who demonstrate dynamic leadership and strong communication.

Lusk, who began serving as superintendent of Hamilton Community Schools in July 2022, has worked to strengthen two-way communication and transparency throughout the district. Those efforts have included biweekly community forums, improved newsletters and email communication, and regular website updates.

“I have been impressed by the many positive changes he has made in just over a year here,” one anonymous HCS parent wrote in a letter of support.

The same parent also wrote to NSPRA, “I’ve had children in the district for over ten years, and I felt more informed in the past year with Dr. Lusk. He has shown refreshing transparency to parents and stakeholders to make sure we’re informed and understand the process of decision-making.”

Lusk, who was nominated for the award by staff and community members, was notified of the honor by email. In responses provided to the association for a future release, he discussed his commitment to remaining approachable within the community.

“The community needs to understand that their voice is valuable, will be heard and considered in decision-making processes,” Lusk said. “While it may not be acted on, individuals know their voice has been heard and will know the rationale behind the decisions. Earning trust is a valuable process that cannot be taken for granted. We want to ensure the bridge built with the community is a two-way street with a strong culture of collaboration.”

Congratulations to Dr. Lusk on this prestigious national recognition!
