If you've driven by the former Hamilton Community Schools bus garage recently, you may have noticed some significant changes taking place.

What was once an aging district facility is undergoing a remarkable transformation thanks to the generosity and vision of two local businesses committed to supporting the Hamilton community.

Hamilton Community Schools is excited to announce that the building is being renovated through a partnership led by Xtreme Stylin and Overisel Lumber. Together, the two businesses are donating substantial materials, services, and expertise to help revitalize the structure while significantly reducing costs to the district.

The project began as a simple discussion about repainting the building. However, what followed far exceeded the district's expectations.

Xtreme Stylin took the lead in organizing the effort, developing the overall design vision, coordinating the project, and donating graphics, signage, materials, installation, and other elements that will give the building an entirely new look and identity.

Overisel Lumber joined the effort by donating siding, lumber for structural support, doors, windows, roofing materials, and additional construction supplies necessary to complete the renovation.

Before moving forward, Hamilton Community Schools carefully evaluated the long-term viability of the project. Multiple construction professionals inspected the facility to ensure it was structurally sound and worthy of investment. Following those evaluations, along with previous roof renovations, the district determined the building could continue serving students and the community for many years to come.

As part of the renovation, the facility is also being reimagined for future district needs. With educational programs and extracurricular opportunities continuing to grow, the goal is to create a flexible space that can support a variety of student-focused uses in the years ahead.

Upon completion, the building will officially be known as The HUB — Hamilton Utility Building.

The new name reflects both the building's transformation and its future purpose as a versatile district facility. While it is not intended to serve as the community center concept previously explored by the district, The HUB will provide valuable space for district programming, student activities, athletic needs, and other educational opportunities as they arise.

Construction is expected to be completed by mid-July.
