Congratulations to all of the band members who participated in the MSBOA District Solo
and Ensemble Festival at Wyoming High School in early February. Of the 25 events that
participated, 9 earned 2nd division ratings and 16 earned 1st division ratings. Those who
earned 1st division ratings also qualified for State. State qualifiers include:

● Ben Bosscher- alto sax solo
● Tristan Patch- alto sax solo
● Michael Garvin- tenor sax solo
● Karley Riddle- trumpet solo
● Tyler Michielsen- trumpet solo
● Annika Johnson- french horn solo
● Evan Bondsfield- french horn solo
● Drew Van Houten- trombone solo
● Ella Oppenhuizen & Leah Elkins- flute duet
● Kenzie Pelletier & Maddie Rizo- oboe duet
● Karley Riddle & Mackenzie Topp- trumpet/clarinet duet
● Jacob Weber & Ricky Towne- trombone duet
● Alyssa Weber, Ella Oppenhuizen, Leah Elkins & Abby Miedema- flute quartet
● Drew Van Houten, Gus Johnson, Annika Johnson, Joey Oppenhuizen & Tyler Michielsen- brass quintet
"All of the students involved did a wonderful job on their performances," said band director, Mr. Joe Herrick. "We are excited that every event that qualified for State have chosen to participate in that event as well."
State District Solo & Ensemble Festival will be held at Portage Northern High School on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15.
