Bentheim Elementary School Principal Jared Randall has been honored as the 2025 Region 9 Principal of the Year by the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principal Association (MEMSPA). The recognition celebrates Randall’s exceptional leadership, dedication to students and staff, and commitment to the Hamilton community.

The announcement came as a surprise to Randall during a special walkthrough celebration at Bentheim Elementary, where students lined the hallways to honor their principal. Randall, who is in his fourth year at Bentheim and 19th year with Hamilton Community Schools, humbly accepted the recognition, crediting his approach to leadership and service for the award.

“I try to serve Bentheim in the best way possible and meet the needs of the students, staff, and community,” Randall said. “Everything else seemed to take care of itself.”

Randall emphasized that his primary focus is supporting the staff, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to help students reach their full potential. “I can’t influence all 268 kids every day, but by taking care of our amazing staff and communicating well with the community, the students’ needs are taken care of,” he explained. “There’s daily joy in seeing kids grow and succeed, which brings a deeper satisfaction knowing you’re serving a purpose.”

Hamilton Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Brad Lusk praised Randall’s approach to leadership. “He is calm, collected, thoughtful, and deliberate,” Dr. Lusk said. “He consistently strives for the best for our students, staff, and community. This award is well-deserved, and we are honored to have him as part of Hamilton Community Schools.”

Randall expressed gratitude to those who nominated and supported his selection. “I’m very humbled and excited at the same time. Thank you to MEMSPA and everyone involved in the nomination process,” he said.
