Hamilton High School’s HVAC Co-Op students put their skills to work this week by helping Oakland Christian Reformed Church diagnose a heating and cooling issue in the building’s Narthex upper room. After touring the facility, taking measurements, and evaluating the system, students presented their findings to the church’s building committee.
Four students, Landen, Brooklynn, Alex and Will spoke on their ideas to fix the problems.
Mark, a member of Oakland CRC’s building committee, said the experience was valuable for both the church and the students. “These big buildings are very tough to heat and cool,” he shared. “I asked for the school kids to come in here with Tom [Burton] because I felt this is a great learning experience… For hands-on students, this is a great program."
