Hamilton High School continues its dynamic 2023-2024 season with the world’s longest continuously-running stage play, The Mousetrap, by English crime novelist and playwright Agatha Christie.

November 30 through December 2 performances start at 7pm. On Saturday, December 2, the matinee performance will start at 2pm.

After a local woman is murdered, the guests and staff at Monkswell Manor find themselves stranded during a snowstorm. It soon becomes clear that the killer is among them, and the seven strangers grow increasingly suspicious of one another. A police detective, arriving on skis, interrogates the suspects: the newlyweds running the house; a spinster with a curious background; an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef; a retired Army major; a strange man who claims his car has overturned in a drift; and a jurist who makes life miserable
for everyone. When a second murder takes place, tensions and fears escalate. This record-breaking murder mystery features a brilliant surprise finish from Dame Agatha Christie, the foremost mystery writer of her time.

Part drawing room comedy and part murder mystery, The Mousetrap is a doubled-barreled whodunit full of twists and surprises. Grab your friends and come enjoy an evening of mystery and intrigue!

Due to some mature themes, this show is recommended for ages 13 and up.

Hamilton High School opens the 2023-2024 season by presenting A Night of One Acts, featuring the works of Don Zolidis. This production features multiple one-act plays presented in one fun night of comedic theatre.

Thursday and Friday, November 9 and 10 performances start at 7pm. On Saturday, November 11, a matinee performance will start at 2pm. Opening the night is the creatively diverse, ¡Artistic Inspiration. Two basement-dwelling hack writers concoct a scheme to create the most producible play in America. Their conversation quickly degenerates into a contest to see who can write the worst play imaginable. The hilarious disastrous results range from a “message” play about the dangers of huffing to a Seussian global warming drama about Eskimos. With it only getting worse from there, will they ever find a play worth performing?

After a brief intermission, the comedy continues for Help Desk. When you call the Help Desk, you’re looking for a solution – but your problems might just be beginning. Whether your getting shamed about your inability to log in, giving your credit card information to a scammer, or
needing help getting rid of a boyfriend, customer service calls spiral into absurdity for the customers and employees alike.

After another short intermission, we close the night with Container of Sharks! This TV show has entrepreneurs putting their ideas to the test in the hopes of winning start-up money from a panel of billionaire investors and one actual shark. Will these apex predators invest in a jetpack that
rockets kids from activity to activity, a fire-beam laser that targets annoying people, or the best cookie recipe? The stakes are high – any business hopeful who fails to convince the panel their idea is worth investing in gets thrown to the sharks…literally!

Audiences of all ages will enjoy this entertaining night of theatre!
