Introducing Hamilton Varsity Football Coach, Zach Harbison
Where did you grow up?
The Holland/Zeeland Area
What Inspired you to start coaching?
Serving others was instilled in me by a college coach of mine, Chuck Lowitski. His impact and that of my other coaches including Shawn Wyckoff and Derek Pennington pushed me to pursue coaching high school athletics.
Favorite motivational quote or saying?
We may encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated. - Maya Angelou
Any hobbies you'd like to share?
I enjoy golfing, watching Michigan football and the occasional video game session.
Why did you choose Hamilton?
The opportunity to teach and coach at a community school was a major draw. I experienced it as an outsider competing against Hamilton and the support and love for the school stuck out to me, even at a young age. The upward trajectory of the football program was also important in the decision making process. Coach Phil Koops did a phenomenal job and I am excited to continue pushing the program forward.

"We are excited Zach is joining the Hawkeyes as a Physical Education teacher and as our head football coach. It was evident throughout the hiring process to all involved that Zach was the right fit for the job. He comes to us with great experience, a passion for improvement, and a desire to serve others. I can't wait for Zach to be in the district full-time and continue building on the foundation that we have."
