Scholarships

Hamilton Athletic Boosters Scholarship – grade 12 – based on years of athletic participation, good sportsmanship/attitude/character, parent participation in the Booster’s Club, and academics (minimum 2.5 GPA) – applications are available in the Main Office (see Connie) – deadline:  turned in to Mr. Bandstra in the Main Office by November 26, 2019

University of Alabama Scholarships – grade 12 - Presidential = $26,000 (minimum 32 ACT or 1420 SAT and 3.50 GPA), UA Scholar = $20,000 (minimum 30 ACT or 1360 SAT and 3.50 GPA), and others – deadline: apply to UA at gobama.ua.edu and be admitted by December 15, 2109

AXA Achievement Scholarship – grade 12 - demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community, or work-related activities – us.axa.com/achievers – deadline: submit by December 15, 2019

Grow Ag Leaders Scholarship – grade 12 - plan to pursue a degree or certification in specific areas of agriculture and eligible majors (a complete list of areas/majors is available in the America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Program Overview ffa.org/scholarships, have a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and obtain two endorsements from eligible farmers – americasfarmers.com – deadline:  submit by January 15, 2020

John F. Kennedy Profile In Courage Essay Contest – grades 9-12 – write an essay on this topic: “Describe and analyze an act of political courage by an elected official who served during or after 1917, the year after JFK’s birth” - jfklibrary.org/essaycontest – deadline: submit (or postmarked) by January 17, 2020

University Club of Grand Rapids Scholarship – grade 12 – minimum 3.00 GPA – for students who intend to build, support, and serve the West Michigan community after college graduation – universityclubgr.com (or see Mrs. Safford in the Student Services Office for an application) – deadline: submit (or postmarked) by February 3, 2020

MEA Scholarship – grade 12 – must be a dependent of an MEA member or MEA-Retired member in good standing –plan to attend a Michigan public community/junior college, four-year degree-granting institution, or vocational training institution that grants a degree, certification or license. Those attending the following private institutions ONLY are also eligible: Baker College-Flint/Owosso; University of Detroit–Mercy; Adrian College; Finlandia University; and Albion College (the aforementioned private institutions are existing local MEA affiliates.); based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, and school and community service – mea.org/mea-scholarship – deadline: submit by February 20, 2020
